S.B. 1343 requires training for all employers of 5 or more employees. There is no requirement that the 5 employees work at the same location or that all work or reside in California.
Both supervisors and non-supervisory employees must receive training by January 1, 2021. They also must be retrained once every two years. New employees and employees promoted to supervisor positions must receive training within six months of assuming their position.
The Department of Fair Housing and Employment will accept complaints from employees that their employers have not complied with the law and the DFEH will investigate accordingly.
The law specifies "An employer...shall provide..." so it is the employer's - not the employee's - responsibility to provide the training, including any costs that may be incurred.
Yes. Many times employees do not have a work computer or email so this site will allow you to register many employees using the same email address and all employees can participate from the same computer. Separate Certificates of Completion will be emailed to distribute to the individual employees
